Licensed Resident in Marriage & Family Therapy

Offering sessions In-Office and Virtually to clients in Virginia

Helping you build relationships that feel more connected, intentional, and authentic.

Sometimes you know you want things to change, but you’re not quite sure how. Maybe you:

  • Keep having the same arguments with your partner.
  • Feel disconnected from the people you love, even when you’re physically together.
  • Are left questioning who you are or where you fit after a major life transition.
  • Have spent so much time adapting to the expectations of others that you’re not sure what you actually need anymore.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what’s happening, and begin creating something different.

You’re Not the Problem. The Pattern Is.

Understand Your Connections Without Losing Sight Of You

You deserve a therapist who is willing to be curious with you, challenge you thoughtfully, and create enough safety for you to explore the things that may be difficult to say out loud.

What You'll Get With Me

You’ll get a therapist who genuinely wants to understand the whole picture.

We’ll look beyond the immediate problem to explore what’s underneath it at the emotions, beliefs, relationships, experiences, and patterns that may be influencing what’s happening now.

You’ll also get a therapist who believes you are the expert on your own life. I may offer a different perspective, ask a question that makes you pause, or gently challenge something that seems to be keeping you stuck. But I’m not here to tell you who you should be or what your life should look like.

My hope is that you leave therapy with more than insight. I want you to have a clearer understanding of yourself, stronger communication skills, and practical ways to respond differently when old patterns inevitably show up.

Most importantly, I want you to feel more empowered to make choices that reflect who you are and what matters to you, rather than simply reacting to what you’ve always known.

What You Won't Get With Me

You won’t get a therapist who assumes that every problem starts and ends with you. You also won’t get a therapist who tells you what you should feel, think, or do. Therapy isn’t about fitting your life into someone else’s definition of healthy.

And you won’t get endless talking without movement. While I believe deeply in slowing down and understanding the deeper story, I also want our work to translate into your everyday life in your conversations, your relationships, your choices, and the way you understand yourself.

Our relationships matter. Our families matter. Our culture matters. The systems we live within matter. I believe those contexts deserve a place in the therapy room.

Why You Should Work With Me

You may be tired of having the same conversations, experiencing the same conflicts, or finding yourself in the same emotional places. Maybe you understand what is happening but still can’t figure out how to change it.

I’m particularly interested in the space between who you’ve learned to be and who you want to become. We can explore the stories you’ve carried about yourself, the roles you’ve taken on in relationships, and the experiences that have shaped your understanding of belonging, connection, and identity.

For BIPOC clients especially, I recognize that identity and relationships don’t exist in a vacuum. Your cultural background, family, community, and experiences of the world can all influence how you understand yourself and connect with others. I want those realities to have a meaningful place in our work together.

My goal isn’t to help you become a different person. It’s to help you understand yourself more deeply so you can move through your relationships and your life with more clarity, connection, and intention.

Working With Me

I believe therapy is a relationship, too.

You deserve a therapist who is willing to be curious with you, challenge you thoughtfully, and create enough safety for you to explore the things that may be difficult to say out loud.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I don’t see you as a problem that needs to be solved. I see you as a whole person with a story, strengths, relationships, and experiences that have shaped the way you see yourself and the world around you.

As a systems-trained therapist, I pay attention not only to what is happening within you, but also to what is happening between you and the people around you.

That might mean exploring the cycle you and your partner get caught in during conflict, the role you’ve taken on within your family, or the ways your identity and cultural experiences have shaped your sense of belonging.

Therapy with me is a place to understand those connections without losing sight of you.

My Background – And Fun Facts!

I am a Licensed Resident in Marriage & Familly Therapy (VA 0730000814) supervised by Kaitlyn Steel, LMFT, and Kim Rippy, LPC.

I earned a Master’s in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Education Policy, Organization & Leadership from the Univertisy of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and my Bachelor’s in Sociology and Music from Wesleyan University.

My training in Marriage and Family Therapy has shaped the way I understand people: not in isolation, but within the relationships, families, communities, cultures, and systems that influence their lives.

I bring warmth, curiosity, and thoughtful challenge into the therapy room because I believe meaningful growth requires both feeling understood and being willing to look at something differently.

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating experiences such as relationship challenges, life transitions, identity development, anxiety, trauma, and relational stress.

I especially enjoy working with clients who feel stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break, disconnected from the people they love, or overwhelmed by changes in their lives.

I also specialize in supporting BIPOC individuals, couples, and families, with particular attention to identity, culture, belonging, and the ways these experiences intersect with relationships.
