Prior to opening Keystone Therapy Group, Kim worked in a number of professional counseling settings, providing a variety of services and performing roles including: day-treatment and in-home therapy for children of low-income families in Alexandria, VA; day-treatment therapy for adults with dual diagnoses of severe mental illness (schizophrenia) and substance abuse in Fort Belvoir, VA; individual and couples counseling in a for-profit group practice in Springfield, VA; and individual, couples, families, and group therapy for a non-profit clinic in Vienna, VA where she also successfully maintained roles as the Intake Supervisor, Records Manager and member of the Safety Development Committee.
Kim's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Christopher Newport University, and a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marymount University. She is also in the process of completing a Career Studies Certificate in Business Management: Entrepreneurship from Northern Virginia Community College. Kim is an active member in Norther Virginia Licensed Professional Counselors, the American Counseling Association, and The National Society for Leadership and Success.
Our Services
- Business Planning: Consultant will assist in developing a comprehensive business plan for the practice including conducting market research, defining the target clientele, assessing local competition, and outlining strategies for growth and sustainability for the practice. Consultant will assist Owner in developing a SWOT analysis of projected practice.
- Financial Planning: Consultant will provide guidance on financial matters such as budgeting, financial obligations, fee structures, insurance billing, and reimbursement processes.
- Office Setup and Technology: Consultant will advise on setting up the physical office space, including layout design, equipment procurement, and technology infrastructure (such as electronic health record systems, telemedicine platforms, and appointment scheduling software).
- Marketing and Branding: Consultant will develop marketing strategies to promote the practice and attract clients. This may involve creating a brand identity, designing marketing materials, establishing an online presence (website, social media profiles), and implementing advertising campaigns.
- Ethical and Professional Guidance: Consultant will offer advice on ethical considerations and best practices in mental health practice, including client confidentiality, boundaries, informed consent, and professional conduct.
- Staffing and Training: For practices with multiple staff members, consultant may assist in recruiting and hiring qualified personnel, as well as providing training and development programs to ensure staff competency and compliance with industry standards.
- Continuing Education: Consultant will stay current on the latest developments and trends in mental health care, providing ongoing education and training to practitioners to enhance their skills and knowledge where applicable.
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Consultants serve as a resource for problem-solving and decision-making, offering insight and expertise to address challenges within building and managing a mental health private practice, and assist in capitalizing on opportunities for growth and improvement.
