Your Journey Starts Here

Working With Me

With over two decades of experience in the counseling profession, I am deeply committed to helping individuals navigate life’s complexities and achieve emotional wellness.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in unconditional positive regard, with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I strive to help individuals build self-esteem, regulate emotions, and strengthen relationships through compassionate, solution-focused counseling.

I firmly believe that growth and healing are possible at any stage of life, regardless of the challenges faced. My dedication to helping others is unwavering, and I look forward to the opportunity to support individuals and their loved ones on their journey to well-being.

My Background

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia (LPC #0701006582) and a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor for Virginia LPC and LMFT residents. I earned both my Master’s in Counseling Education and Bachelor’s in Social Services from the University of New Orleans.

My passion for counseling began as a teenager while working in a nursing home, where I first witnessed the transformative power of listening and providing support. This early exposure to the challenges faced by elderly and disabled residents ignited my lifelong dedication to caring for others and empowering those in need.

My work has encompassed a range of mental health settings, including supporting individuals struggling with trauma, substance abuse, and life transitions. I have worked extensively with individuals facing mental illness and substance abuse, assisting them in transitioning back to independent living. This included providing guidance on medication management, daily life skills such as cooking and cleaning, and helping them secure and maintain employment. My goal has always been to equip individuals with the tools they need to regain stability and confidence in their everyday lives.

I have also served as a therapist and manager at a treatment center for abused and abandoned children, working to reunify families or secure safe and nurturing environments. My experience includes managing crisis situations, implementing interventions for at-risk youth, and facilitating college and career readiness programs.

Fun Facts!

Beyond counseling, I have held roles as a Mental Health Specialist, Severe Intervention Unit Manager, and Public Information Officer for FEMA during disaster response efforts.

Additionally, I have been actively involved in coaching, particularly in Track and Field, leading teams to multiple championships. The principles of teamwork, leadership, and perseverance I have developed as a coach align seamlessly with my counseling approach, where I empower individuals to overcome obstacles and thrive.

Clinical Supervision

Being a therapist requires a willingness to learn. Being a good therapist requires a willingness to grow. Being a great therapist requires full engagement in all aspects of their journey while maintaining a focus on their clients.

At Keystone, we believe that if our clinicians are supported, encouraged, and empowered, our clients will naturally receive high-quality care.
